Thoughts and reflections from Pastor Lin.

We're in the midst of planning our 2011 Fall Open House.  We've actually been planning it for quite some time but wow, here we are now in mid-August already! It's a little funny to me that a church would have an 'open house.'  I mean, we're always an open house of course!  But for whatever reason, we always get a great response to these.  I think it sends a clear message that we REALLY want guests and visitors to come to our church. You would think all churches would be like that, but they're not. My husband and I have visited many churches in the past who were not very warm and welcoming at all.  It almost made us feel like we walked into someone else's party and weren't really wanted. That's why I'm so proud of the people at BHCC for sooo not being like that! Over and over again, I hear first time guests tell me what an awesome job we do in welcoming guests and making them feel comfortable and wanted! I know the reason is because we are sincere in our welcoming!  We know we are on a mission from God and a big part of our mission is to welcome new family members HOME! I know our church isn't for everyone, and I'm totally okay with that!  The ones who are supposed to stay, stay! God is the one building this family and I love the fact that I get to participate in His redemptive work!  What an honor, what a joy!...

It's amazing to me HOW MUCH has happened in just a little over a month! 17 people were baptized at BHCC on July 10th, 2011!!! My mother went into an ICU in a florida hospital and I had to abruptly fly down there.  She's doing fine now, praise be to God, but wow, what a scary adventure. Two days after returning from Florida, our family went to the ADK's for a 6 day vacation!  I flew home late Friday night, wrote a sermon on Sat., unpacked, repacked and left for the ADK's right after church.  What a whirlwind but oh yeah, we had an awesome time! In the midst of all this, we found out that Bill has lung cancer!  Our hearts took a huge hit on that one.  But we are all walking in faith and expecting an awesome testimony and miracle to come out of this!...

Hi Friends, Happy Summer days!

Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weather as much as I am!

I am SOOOO excited about our baptism / picnic this Sunday after church!  Praying that ALL OF YOU plan to be there for this most important day in the life of our church!

We have seen some absolutely miraculous conversions in the last 4-5 months and I am so thrilled to see God moving in our church in such incredible ways!  I can not describe what it means to me personally to be on the journey of faith with all of you!  Words cannot describe what it means to see people I love struggling to find faith, and then suddenly get a revelation from God Himself and it's as if the lights suddenly come on, and they believe!

For some people, it is like the song writer John Newton said: "I was blind, but now I see."

One of the people who will be baptized wrote "Everything has changed!" and then put a link to this song: "You Put the Light in Me!" by...

Hi Friends! Below is the scripture that the LORD showed me right before starting BHCC:

Isaiah 43:19

For I am about to do something new.       See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?    I will make a pathway through the wilderness.       I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

And He has kept His promise to do a brand new thing in and through BHCC!  BHCC is STILL a brand new church!  Not only are we as a church NEW, but He continues to make more and more NEW things happen at our church.  He's still making NEW pathways through the wilderness and creating NEW living waters in dry land in our midst and through our community!

Rev. 21:5a And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!”

In light of that, I am very excited to see all the NEW things God is doing in the BHCC family!!!

Here's just a few:

NEW life in Christ Jesus! We have at least 12 people who have committed their life...

Greetings Friends,

Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine, blue skies and more summer-like days! I pray that Memorial Day weekend was a day of R&R for you and that you are all enjoying a short work week!

I love, love, love this current message series called "What Faith Can Do!"  I'm not sure I've ever done a series where I've had this enormous of feedback from it.  I am so grateful God is using this series to grow so much faith in our people!  I know it's had a huge impact on my own faith.  The deeper I personally go with God, the deeper I see there is to go and grow!  I can't believe I could fall any more deeply in love with God than I am but thanks be to God, I fall deeper every day! He is such a good, generous, kind, loving, faithful, giving, full of mercy and grace God!  I am in continual AWE of how GOOD He is!  Yes, life is hard, I won't argue that!  But our God is soooo GOOD to those who love Him and call upon Him as their Lord and Savior! I just want to spend every breath I have telling people how GREAT is our God!!!  I pray for others to know the pure JOY that I have come to know in being in a relationship with Him!  Nehemiah 8:10 " . . . the joy of the LORD is your strength." Sing with me...

I can't believe it's almost Memorial Day Weekend!  I'm very excited for this Sunday's worship as we will be having an amazingly gifted violinist play with our worship team this week.  You know we'll be doing a lot of Casting Crown songs for sure! I absolutely LOVE doing this current message series on "What Faith Can Do!" I feel like I speak forever on the difference that faith makes in our lives.  And I loved sharing a lot of the personal miracles that I've gotten to experience in my life.  It's an exciting time to be a part of BHCC!  We continue to grow in healthy ways and each new person that comes feels like a tremendous blessing to the church and to me.  I love the new leadership retreats that we've started.  I'm excited to have this opportunity to raise up and equip more leaders in our church.  One of the most awesome things I continue to hear over and over from BHCC people (both new and seasoned) is how much they feel the presence of God in our church!  Everyone seems to be in continual 'awe' of how powerfully His presence can be felt at every worship service! There's no statement about our church that could make me happier!  Yes, God is very powerfully with us and I never cease to be in awe of all that means!...

We had an awesome Women of Hope Breakfast on Saturday! Women of Hope is the name of the women's ministry at Blessed Hope Community Church.  I doubt most people could understand what the name "Women of Hope" means to me. This ministry has been in existance longer than BHCC has!
