Thoughts and reflections from Pastor Lin.

I LOVE our church! I LOVE God's church and BHCC is definitely God's CHURCH! I feel so incredibly honored and BLESSED to be a servant at this church! I am so amazed at the wonderful people God has brought to our church to be a part of His incredible work here! We are truly a family of God in this church and it's so beyond what words can describe to watch God working as the Master Weaver through it all! On Sunday afternoon, I led our BHCC 101 Membership Class and those classes are always such a huge encouragement to ME! To hear how God has been working in each person's life and to hear how our church has been such a wonderful blessing and tremendous impact on their lives ~ Well, that's what it's all about - Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! I confess, there are days when I (in the flesh) feel jealous of other, bigger churches in our area. I often wish we were able to offer more of the 'bells and whistles' that many of them are able to offer. But then God reminds me how precious and beautiful our church is just the way...

Mary responded, “Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! For the Mighty One is holy, and he has done great things for me." (Luke 1:46-49) Merry CHRISTmas! I know I am speaking on behalf of all the people at Blessed Hope Community Church when I say all of us hope and pray you have a very Merry Christmas! If you are considering visiting BHCC ~ The thing you need to know about our church is that it truly is a family of God that is filled with sincere and caring people! The two words I continually hear new people say about us is that they are amazed by how sincere and genuine are all the people at BHCC! I know one might assume that all churches share this characteristic, but sadly, that is not always the case. I do think there is something incredibly unique and special about our church. One person described it as being innocent, not tainted in anyway. Other people who have moved out of the area report back to me that they have (sadly) not been able to find another church...

Our BHCC Open House may have come to an end but we are still praising God abundantly and celebrating all He has done in the last 4 weeks! We had almost 60 first-time visitors and that has to be an all time record for our previous Open Houses! Many of those visitors continue to come back and worship with us and we pray that God would call many of them to become long-time members of our church family! We feel very honored and blessed to have met so many wonderful people! We are also celebrating how well our going to two Sunday services has been! (We now have four weeks under our belts!) I heard many of our hard working volunteers say it's been much easier than they thought it would be and everyone seems to be truly enjoying the whole two services experience! We've had some folks that we haven't seen in quite some time return to our church because it's now possible for them to come with our having an earlier service! PTL! We are thrilled to have them back! :-) We had around 20 people attend our BHCC 101-401...

This past Sunday - our message was about the Holy Spirit Baptism - and how Jesus used the imagery of the wind to describe what the Holy Spirit is like: John 3:8 "The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can't tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can't explain how people are born of the Spirit." We discussed how the Spirit sometimes moves in our lives as a quiet breath, or as a gentle breeze and at times even like a MIGHTY RUSHING WIND as it did on those first disciples: Acts 2:2 "And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting." Well, it sure feels like the Holy Spirit has been moving in our church like a mighty rushing wind recently!!! We had an amazing worship service this past Sunday and then following worship - we had around 80 people show up and BAPTIZE 15 people at our house on Sunday! (Good thing we have a huge yard!) Right...

I am very excited about BHCC's upcoming Baptism / Picnic on July 20th! I can't imagine a more exciting event and celebration in the church. We have 10-12 people who have expressed interest in water baptism so far - I'm praying for MORE! Somtimes people tell me they feel 'unworthy' of Baptism. They need to understand that none of us are worthy. The focus in water baptism is not to be about how 'good' we are - but instead - about how good God is and what He has done for us - despite our 'unworthiness.' Water baptism is meant to be a choice - are you willing to publicly proclaim what God has done in your spirit? For Christians, water baptism is an important symbol. It’s a lot like what a wedding ring is to a married couple.

A symbol of a defining moment A wedding ring symbolizes the day that you took your wedding vows together. Baptism symbolizes an even more significant defining moment in the life of a Christian, the day he or she trusted Jesus for salvation.

A symbol of commitment A wedding...

A lot continues to happenat BHCC recently! We have finally 'settled' into our newly remodeled office space and we truly LOVE it! Yes, it's a bit smaller but it's definitely MUCH nicer with all new paint and carpet! We are AGAIN at 2481 Browncroft Blvd but we now have some awesome roommates under the name of Mission Commercial Realty! They have the front office space and we are in the back. Our phone number is the same: 585-662-5759. BHCC NEW Office: Pastor Lin's Office (Below) Last month, Barb Robinson was ordained as an assistant pastor at BHCC! We have several candidates praying about the possibility of entering our Pastor Apprentice program! Exciting stuff! BHCC has grown by about 30% in less than a year! PTL!
